Benefits
Learning a foreign language early in life improves cognitive abilities and influences achievement in other areas, resulting in higher test scores in reading and math. Studies have found that students that speak more than one language score higher on standardized college admission exams than monolingual students. Research also shows that learning a second language boosts problem-solving, critical thinking, and listening skills. It also improves memory, concentration, and the ability to multitask. Children proficient in other languages show signs of enhanced creativity and mental flexibility.
By participating in the Global Gateways Language and Culture Enrichment Program, students not only gain valuable language skills but also develop a global perspective, empathy for diverse cultures, and a lifelong appreciation for the interconnectedness of our world.
